Bluebeard Leader Vs Leader

Who would make a better leader, someone who is loved or someone who is feared? Being feared can sometimes but not always give you what you want. Sometimes I think it could keep people away and bring that leader a lot of problems. If you are loved than the leader can have an open mind to outside ideas. I think though that if the leader is truly loved then they will be honest, smart, and is good to everyone who needs assistance. These are two sides of being a leader, and our society has been governed by both of these types of people.
This cod compare to the story of Bluebeard by Charles Perrault, to actually get why it's similar you must first know the story. BlueBeard is a feared man because of his blue beard, he had lots of money and houses

He invited them to parties to seem nicer or different to what he is really like, this is what many people or leaders could do promise one thing and do something different that could hurt many people. It worked though, the youngest daughter of his neighbor started to like him for being a civil man, later on they were married and he went to live in his big house. This is what many leaders are doing and i think it's wrong because they are tricking people into thinking one thing and then they do something that could hurt the world or their community. Anyways back into the story he went to a business meeting of some kind and left his keys to his wife but told her not to open the closet, but she did and saw all the wives he had but they were dead, When he came back he found out and was going to kill her. Its horrible to think that a leader could trick people and when they find out who they truly are it is scary and it makes you fear them.

“A leader has to watch every word he or she says and quickly learns that you can’t go through life without a few critics, some well deserved” (pg. 5), this quote as some of the beginning words from MacDonald truly shows that a leader has responsibilities to uphold to. I found it interesting that he showed these responsibilities are not only external, but internal as well. Many do not realize the internal battles that leaders in ministry go through, and in order for leaders to handle a situation in a mature manner; they must uphold to the responsibilities of character they are expected to maintain. There are many internal and external expectations of leaders that are specified in Building Below the Waterline, but only some really stood out to me as factors that I would practice more than others in my leadership positions.…

In the movie adaptation - "Barbe Bleu" - Bluebeard is seen in a different light than in the original Bluebeard story. He is more caring, gentle, and sensitive. Although he is a serial killer, he is not the same kind of monster in the film "Barbe Blue" than he was in story "Bluebeard".…

Throughout ages there have comparatively been more leaders using fear and less of those using love and a very low amount of those who managed to combine. By inspiring fear for instance Stalin was killing his own people while Hitler was killing foreigners. Both of those leaders were about to gain respect and confidence in peoples’ eyes that the way chosen by a head of the state is unambiguous and could not be disputed. Author of ‘The Prince’ insisted that even if the head by its nature cannot have all the virtues, he should give the impression that they are all inherent to him. Fear is the easiest way to prove so, while love is the toughest but right.…

when examining Bluebeard from a feminist perspective it becomes clear that this fairytale is based on domestic violence and plays off of exaggerated female and male stereotypes. Women in this fairytale are treated as less then men and are portrayed as weaker but also as disobedient liars. In the beginning of the story Bluebeard is introduced as as a rich man while the females/his neighbour is portrayed simply as " A lady of Quality" with two "perfect beauties" as daughters because of course he wouldn’t have approached the women if they were not beautiful. When it comes to being a leader it takes more than just being well liked amongst peers. A leader must be organized and able to use different types of power to achieve goals and ready followers. One type of power is called coercive power. According to the book titled Leadership: Enhancing the Lessons of Experience, by Gordy J. Curphy, Ginnett, and Hughes, coercive power is, “the potential to influence others through the administration of negative sanctions or the removal of positive events” (Curphy, 2015, p. 128).
