Blue Monologue

My stomach is in knots and my clothes are full of stains. The baby in the ladies lap next to me is sobbing from sleep deprivation, but I guess we all are. The blue lace ribbon from my bonnet is now brown and I just think to myself how I will ever retrieve the crystal blue color it once held. I don’t know what the new world will be like so all I can do for now is dream. I imagine the new world as a peaceful place where all are kind to each other and harmony is in the air. The streets filled with white horse drawn carriages and markets filled with fresh goods. As I start to doze away I hear a loud scream come from the cabin above me. I scurry to put all my attire on and rush to the stairwell and head towards where I heard the …show more content…
He told me she past away with the plague but her soul is pure. After that things only went downhill,we had to evacuate from that apartment building due to the plague being contagious and the only thing on the market was a one bedroom apartment. The people on the street of our apartment started dropping like bowling pins. Headlines screamed “Mrs.Jenkins died a slow tragic death!” The bakers 2 month son heart stops beating”. We ate lots of vegetables and keep hydrated to keep the bad bacteria of the plague away. Despite all our hard work my father fell ill and not to long after that i was a 16 year old girl in a small apartment taking care of 4 little children. It was working out ok at first, I got a job at a local sewing mill and my two other siblings got jobs selling the paper. The other two,Joe and Mark, were too young to get jobs so they just stayed at home and played. The money was just enough to pay the rent and have one meal of food per day. when I thought times were rough i just thought about how lucky and blessed I was too have my 4 siblings by my side every step of the way. I couldn’t imagine them not in my life. I came home from a long day at the meal so excited to see the gleaming bright faces of Joe,Mark,Jane and Mary. I opened the squeaky door, that is when my world crumbled to dust. The apartment was dead silent, not …show more content…

I ran across town to the adoption agency where I requested to see my siblings. They told me that they have been adopted and that I can’t contact them.
My Past is my past and I can’t dread on and on about it. I am here now I will fit in. I must have cried myself to sleep because when I woke up there where hundreds of tissues around the room. I got up and put a navy blue cap on and Maroon dress on. I tried fitting in with the ordinary black garments but work that didn’t so I will try a new tack tactic and be myself even if it means standing out.Yesterday was Sabbath so today is going to be a get together at the Pastor's house. When I arrived there was lots of whispers and gossips about me behind by back,so i just held my head high and walked on. I bumped into the pastor who was a charming man with bright crystal blue eyes

... you probably can't tell, but I'm living up to my title of Lord of the Sighs at the moment. Some of you might remember the SoulSilver Scrublocke back in, what was it, early June? Totally forgot to continue that. I decided to just scrap that project altogether and play one of my favorite Pokemon games thus far, Black, because I'm black, too. Genius jokes are genius.…

“Father abandoned child, wife husband, one brother another, for the plague seemed to strike through breath and sight. And so they died. And no one could be found to bury the dead, for money or friendship.” This was how Agnolo di Tura described the plague in 1350. Citizens of European towns felt they could not even trust their own family, afraid that the plague would catch simply through being near each other.…

I don't think I'll ever forget myself as I was just then; my legs sprawled up on the picnic table and back arched to try and conform to the rigid wooden chair that would never be comfortable. My eyes were shut, and my sigh was soft. My chest hurt, but not in a broken-hearted kind of way. It was actually physical, but I tried to ignore it. I felt like crying for no reason, but I didn't.…

It’s been a day or two since we’ve left this room. I’m lost and enraptured by the fragility surrounding our isolation. I spend much of my time counting things. I count the slats on your window blinds, I count the clothes scattered on your bedroom floor, I count the scars on your body. I count every different language and color I could learn to love you in.…

Red… Gold… Orange… Blue… Catching a glimpse of the blue skied day, the leaves rained down on me, swirled by the promise of winter approaching. A faint hint of kerosene perpetually tainted the air, assuring citizens what would occur from hoarding books. As I perched on the branch watching the mindless citizens lazily stroll by, I began to imagine a different world. The world that my uncle and his people describe in their retellings of all the burned stories. A world that appears to be forever lost, despite the attempts of the group to revive the unresponsive community.…
