Blue Marsh Description

Everyone has a place that is special to them, and mine is Blue Marsh Lake in Reading Pennsylvania. Blue Marsh is a serene and calming place that is without the traffic sounds of everyday life. As soon as I step out of the vehicle at Blue March Lake, the warm sun on my skin and the sounds of the water engulfs me in a blanket of peace. Whenever I head out to this special lake, I know I can prepare myself for complete relaxation. Another reason I enjoy Blue Marsh is it sounds so different than the city which is what adds to the calming effect. When you step from the car you hear the hum of boats, slapping of the waves, and laughter of children. You are without the screeching of tires on pavement and honking of horns as you enter this different

There could be more than one definition of a beautiful place; they all differ from each other. For example, the sight and sound of ocean waves colliding with each other as they ooze onto the shore of the beach could be a definition of a beautiful place; however, the sight of gleaming city lights with the glowing silver shine of the moon resting in the sky could also be a definition of a beautiful place. Hume Lake Christian Camp is my definition of a beautiful place. It is located in the Sequoia National Forest in Hume, Fresno County, California.…

To find the threshold in marsh resilience to oil spills Brian R. Silliman and his team studied the erosion rates along Gulf of Mexico coastline following the Deepwater Horizon disaster in the summer of 2010. Before data collection began the relationship between the marsh erosion rates and the degree of plant stem oiling was predicted to be positively correlated. The greatest salt marsh erosion sites and the threshold for marsh resilience were forecasted to occur at the highest (90-100%) stem oiling level. The results of this study added to the rare amount of empirical data that has been recorded showing a link between geomorphologic thresholds and specific levels of large-scale human disturbances such as oceanic oil spills. Oil was found on…

There is something about riding a 1200 pound beast through the water and not having a care in the world that made this day out of more than the 5,748 days that I have lived, the best.
