As a parent have you ever felt that your child didnt have enough opportunities for growth? How about as a teen did you wish for more chances to learn about different career paths or just simply learn how to better care for yourself and prepare for adulthood? One metro man has taken the initiative to meet all those needs. While working to attain his Project Management Bachelors of science and administration degree. 29 year highly motivated Keith Thompson has decided to turn his senior project into a reality. Native to the Kansas city, Ks area Thompson is very clued in on the needs of his community and has made strive to organize Blue Collar Group, Inc which is a non-forprofit organization with the objective to equip at risk youth for their future …show more content…
Thompson and i sat down within a very casual setting he opned up to any questions i had for him. From his pleasant, calm voice tone his responses poured out with ease. Graduate of our local Wyandotte High School and as he quotes "dont forget about the honors." Thompson proudly spoke of how he enjoyed playing sports such as basketball, football as well as track. "i always played up a level." he added. Which means as a sophomore he played as a junior and then as a junior he played as a senior. Extremely popular within his peers. i admire him for his dilligence in school whole surrounded by many others who were not so like minded. He continued on by stating. "my mom and dad both come from big families so bringing home A 's, going to church, abiding by household rules wasnt an option." Thompson also went on to mention. "When i say dad I 'm not speaking of my actual father. My father was not in my life for over the first half of my life." He continued," so when i say dad, im talking about my step father." so its clear he had a positive male figure in his life. He also mentioned how all of his friends as a teen had a mossing male figure and now when he meets the mother 's of the children he cares for he asks,"are there any male
