Blood Rage Figurative Language

Christmas. A time for families to come together and rediscover why you all hate each other. Sometimes you just wish Santa would show up and slaughter us all. I can't be the only one that thinks that, right?

Santa's Slay, for the most part, was an alright flick, but it's the opening family dinner scene that really sets the bar high, with plenty of cheese to go all around. I could say more, but why not having the following clip do the work for me.

Blood Rage is your perfect Thanksgiving flick to watch with the family. A heartwarming tale of murder, twins and a crazy mother who announces she is remarrying during a turkey dinner, whilst her clearly crazy ass son holds back his homicidal rage.

The actual dinner scene in Blood Rage isn't the

Aparicio tells of the violence from her cousins pointing at her because she got a bloody nose from the stench of the rastro: “all nine of my cousins laughed at me because they thought my bloody nose meant I was scared” (52). The actions from her cousins portrays a strong hostility in-between family members. She also demonstrates the amount of violence by her grandma taking interest in the biggest, meanest, turkey in the pen: “the stupid bird was in the middle of a fight with the second biggest bird in the pen” (52). Her grandmother demonstrates by wanting the biggest meanest bird that she is more satisfied with those things of violence, and that the more violent something is the more it has the right of approval. Because of this need for approval, her family will go to whatever length to achieve the meal with the turkey.…

There are many passages in Inkheart, written by Cornelia Funke, that the author helps me feel as if I am actually in the book, experiencing what the characters are. One way the author does this is by including figurative language. Funke uses figurative language that help the reader visualize and compare how something might look like given the examples. Similies can give a comparison that will help the reader see the scene that is going on. On page 31 it states, “On the right of the road a densely wooded slope fell steeply to the bank of a wide lake.…

The two texts that I am comparing are, “Red Umbrella” by Christina Diaz Gonzalez and “Migration” photograph taken by José Hernández-Claire. The common subject that is portrayed in these two texts,“Red Umbrella” and “Migration” photograph is immigration, which leads to family separation. Even though, these two authors use some similar techniques to portray the central idea, they also used different techniques to express their feelings, to show how immigration can affect how people go about their everyday lives. Three techniques that are portrayed in both, Red Umbrella and Migration, is tone, figurative language and point of view. An example of tone is shown the quote, “My fear turned into anger.…

Some comedy films that I’ve seen, that are disorganized, became great classic comedy films. Maslin claims that, "Christmas Vacation makes no pretense at being anything other than a disjointed collection of running gags; if it weren 't for a calendar that marks the approach of Christmas Day," she overlooks that the hilarious unexpected scenes could make up for the film not having any structure. Christmas Vacation could cut out the calendar countdown and still have the same funny effect due to the great way the film uses humor in the unexpected scenes, slapstick comedy, and characters to connect to each other in an unorthodox way. In LeDonne 's article, Lewis states, "It highlights the idiosyncrasies between family members,” in a scene Beverly is talking to Clark in bed and voices her concerns about her mother making fun of Clark’s mother buying cheap hot dogs. She also says that Clark’s mother accuses Beverly’s mom of waxing her upper lip, becomes a true rendition of the bizarre traits between the family members that the audience witness in Christmas Vacation.…

If I had a ticket in my hand, I would want it to be a ticket to the Polar Express. I know it sounds childish, but the classic movie has always been one of the favorite parts of my childhood. The simple magic that is expressed through the holiday aura of Christmas gives off a feeling unlike any other. Although I’d honestly love to wake up one night in the middle of winter and find that the Polar Express train was waiting outside, I can’t deny that Santa Claus is a figment of humanity’s imagination; however, I’d still want to have that ticket in my possession.…

As the light from the sun slowly disappears behind the hillside, followed by the half crescent moon giving off just enough light to illuminate the surrounding clouds. As you are walking around the dimly lit streets, trying to just make it into your house. As you walk alone, you hear a noise down a hard way and your mind starts to wonder as to what it could be. Now every step you take, to every breath you take in, you do it with ease, listening and waiting, guessing what will be behind the next corner waiting. This setting seems like its straight from a horror book, but this is could be a very real situation.…

I wasn't entirely sure what to expect going into Gravy, as judging it solely by the cover made you think it was going to be some cheesy low budget flick, trying way too hard to be funny. Boy is my face red! Gravy was a witty, gory and all around fun time, full of laughter, copious amounts of blood splatter and storyline that was quick paced and with straight for the jugular, literally. PRODUCT INFORMATION PLOT SUMMARY MOVIE Fans of the TV series It's Always Sunny in Philadephia may notice right off the bat a couple actors joining forces in this trippy little flick.…

It illuminates the front window, sending a warm glow throughout the house. Christmas is a favored holiday by children, maybe because of the presents, or because of the magical aura that seems the envelop the whole season. Christmas is celebrated in honor of the birth of Jesus christ, son of god. A Mass service (which is sometimes called Communion or Eucharist) is where Christians remember that Jesus died for us was resurrected. The 'Christ-Mass' service was the only one that was allowed to take place after sunset (and before sunrise the next day), so people had it at Midnight!…

Thanksgiving dinner in my family is a big deal all our family and friends gather around to celebrate. There is always plenty of food, drinks, music and laughter. My family is loud, crazy and not afraid to voice their opinions so there is always drama at every dinner or family event. I chose to write on this because I never payed attention to detail or interactions at these dinners like why the women cook? Or why it is important that we are all together.…

Being considerate and helpful to others is what makes you have a humanity. “A Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens is a story about a man named Ebenezer Scrooge who was tremendously greedy and was visited by the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future to make him see what his selfishness had caused him. This story has multiples themes, such as social justice, the true meaning of humanity, etc. Greed overtakes the humanity of those who possess it because it pushes away everyone you love and takes away your ability to be kind and empathetic, and lose quality time with people who care about you.…

Readers sometimes do not question why the author uses certain word styles and they simply don 't know that they use it for a reason like explaining the theme. A memoir is a great example of this when it comes to using many literary elements that explain the author 's theme. Anything the author writes in literature has a purpose and it should be accounted for no matter what. The author of the book is a Chinese woman whose name is Maxine Hong Kingston and her book is a memoir. This book is essentially about the author’s life in America and she uses elements of literature throughout her book to explain events that occurred.…
