Blood-Personal Narrative

Decent Essays
I’m trapped like a dog in a cage bondaged by tattered wires and broken chains, I look around the room and all i see is white walls and black tarp to cover the windows. The smell of blood and raw meat is nauseating to my stomach. Feeling the touch of every living creature is killing a part of me piece by piece. Hearing the screams of children playing and the sounds of engines starting makes me believe that this is the end of my journey. As i sit screaming and shouting for help i hear the footsteps of the man in steel toe boots. Crying tears and spitting out blood is not helping him release his innocence or humanity. As i stare into his eyes it’s like staring into the devil’s soul. He has a smile a death, he is amused every time he sees me

It is dark. It always is. My mind, like the hell-lit cave, is ignorant to life outside of darkness. I see mere shapes and speak but madness; the language I had once known as meaningless as a singular grain of sand on a sprawling shore. Life is but a farce, a fable constructed by the imagination of others.…

The pain began slowly, pricking me with its sharp needles only while doing barre in ballet once a week. I ignored it, believing it to be normal, common discomfort that would soon go away, typical thoughts of a dancer whose entire sport is centered around “good pain”. Six months later, it had escalated to the degree that every step I took felt like an arrow to my knee. Dancing had become impossible, and it was determined that I should be taken to the orthopedist. The bland, brown and beige lobby became extraordinarily familiar as I waited two hours to be examined.…

I can't feel anything. It's almost like my body has given up. It's like I've had so much pain in my life that my body can no longer take it so it is shutting down. I can hear the dogs getting closer and closer to me. I pull myself up over the fence as the guards approach me.…

Buffy's vision blurred, damp hair covered part of her face, sticking with wet. She blinked her vision clearer for a minute, not quite ready to pull herself out of the puddle, not quite sure if she could. Face sideways in the water, cold and probably dying, flashes of how ran through her mind almost in slow motion, but almost in hyperspeed. The last weeks of sparring and battle-prep and the impending death march running like blood through her ears. Coming down here, determined, to end it.…

I feel nothing and take a few more steps forward, becoming more confident in my stride. I don’t know where I’m going, but at least I’m going somewhere. I’m still walking forward when an ear splitting creaking noise forces me into a crouch, my hands covering my ears. It sounds like steel pipes scraping against each other, like an old mansion shifting under the pressure of standing for so many years, it sounds like these things but amplified an infinite number of times. The sound is coming from everywhere at once, I feel like it’s even coming from inside me, from a dark place I didn’t know existed until right now in this moment.…

Linked by Blood Sala, sala, sala, my silver anklets chime as I swish and twirl in the mirror, admiring the skirt of my dabang. I was looking forward to showing the dark blue, flowing dress off at my grandparents’ annual family Ramadan feast. The dress glides as I saunter to the balcony of my room. The pale pink sky was slowly transitioning into a light blue as the sun rose farther into the sky, like an unsatisfied painter painting over his strokes. I breathe in the sweet smell of ripe bananas and flowering roses wafting from our large garden below.…

I felt like I had been walking for eternity. My empty stomach was growling, and my dry throats burned. I was starting to feel faint from dehydration, but I licked my chapped lips and limped on, dragging my iron behind me. I knew that if I stopped to rest, the police would close in on me in an instant, and I would be locked up for the rest of my life for a crime I didn't commit. The ground started to feel squishy between my freezing bare toes as I entered the marsh country.…

The piercing cold of the dungeon makes the pleasantly hot day outside feel like a distant memory. The faint glow of the torches down every hall is the only thing keeping the darkness and the atmosphere from becoming pitch black. The overwhelming stench of decaying bodies, rotting food, as well as rat and human feces can be recognized even before entering. Down in the nearby cell, the most recent inhabitant was either discharged or more likely executed a short while ago. Even under the lack of light, the ticks scratched into the cold stone wall can be seen.…

When in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for lonely people to be free with loneliness and to become as one with the rest of the world. Without doubt to explain why we deserve to be with the society, we as outcasts wrote our own declaration of independence for the rest of the world to see and understand why we should be and will be together and share bond with each other. As outcasts, we can sacrifice our life to be one with the world so that we do not feel insecure and die of living in our breathless world. On account of that reason I am writing this Declaration to declare the causes which impel us, outcast, not to be in the separation, but to be able to connect and live a life for humanity and for ourselves and for our cause.…

I bolted away, making sure to never looking back at the cold dark forest. The sound of twigs cracking and leaves rustling under my feet was pretty loud but was covered up with the sound of the howling wind. My lungs felt like they were on fire and my throat was hurting as if I hadn't drunk water in ages, but I kept running as fast as I could. I promised myself that I wouldn't stop running until I reached civilization, where no one could begin to interpret the horrors that I had seen. Finally, my eyes lit up to the sight of lights and people.…
