Prakash fed the catheter wire through the patient’s femoral artery all the way up to the heart. A rush of blood began to come outside the catheter and my fears of passing out began to creep back into my thoughts. Surprisingly, I was stunned that instead of passing out, I was filled with adrenaline. The doctor called to the nurse to turn on the screen and we all watched in admiration as the heart muscle appeared before our eyes. The heart began to constrict and dilate full of the dye and blood that has just been placed. My eyes could not leave the screen and I had felt as if I had found something I loved. The heart was a beautiful thing and it was even more beautiful knowing everyone in that room was filled with unity to help the patient’s quality of
