A commitment to history is to its search and examination on change, which has invariably been present in Weems' observations. Over 3 decades, she continued to rethink history through her perceptive. Throughout her integrative work, Weems advanced ways in which history has systematically carried onward. In doing so, her art echoes how history is made and the roles individuals tend to take on. In a different exhibit at the SCAD Museum of Art the brothers Steven and William Ladd have their work “Blood Bound” displayed. Their work reflects their admiration of beading and textile work with collaboration. After many years living and working apart they took their skills and combined them in a joint studio practice.
In the start of their careers they crafted couture accessories for many global fashion industries. The longer they worked together they were able to play off each other’s skills and strengths and slowly started creating their jewelry more elaborate and delicate.
