Blindside is based on a guy, michael oher (big mike) A homeless black teen. He’s been out of the school system for years.He has been living on the streets for most of his life because his mom is a drug addict and his father died from suicide. He then got enrolled into this christian school.It was an all white school so he felt uncomfortable. He didn’t talk, he was failing his classes but he was really good at sports. One day he was walking down the street in the dark, where he met leigh Anne and her husband, sean. Leigh anne knew he was living on the streets the moment she set eyes on him, she refused to let him go so she and her family decided to take him in. it was awkward at first but they started to become like family. Obviously his talent and skill at football got him many offers to colleges but he was told he needed to keep his grades up in order to be accepted. That lead to him getting help from a tutor and finally getting his grades up. Football got him to care about his grades because it meant something to him.
Michael took this skills assessment that showed his protective instinct which he scored a 98%. Some ways he demonstrated his protectiveness throughout this film was, leigh anne drove him to his neighborhood to get some clothes from his moms house and leigh anne wanted to come but he insisted that she didn’t because it was a shady neighborhood so he locked her in so she would be safe. Another time he was protective was when he and sj got into the car accident, he saved him from the air bags which caused him to injure his arm but he wanted to save sj from worse injuries.
A personality trait that defines my personality is lazy.
