(Ro 9:31 NKJV) “…but Israel, pursuing the law of righteousness, has not attained to the law of righteousness.”
- That’s what Paul means when he says “Israel has not obtained what it seeks…”
- The Jews sought after Righteousness thru the Law says Paul
- Yet the only ones who receive Righteousness are those of the “elect”...all others says Paul have been “blinded”
- Like Pharaoh – God has “given” the Jews “blindness”
- God’s only responding to their hard hearts, because when a Jew chooses Jesus as Savior…they’re no longer blind…but they can see!
NB – some are chosen and some called, and the call is made evident by their choice
- While others are left to perish in their unbelief due to their hardened hearts

Never again to be offered salvation?
- Paul says “NO”
(11b) But then Paul says “But if by their fall, that because they see all the blessings in the Gentiles coming to God they are then wanting God…then great!”
Just by Paul saying “Certainly not!” – says to them and us today, that God is not finished with the Jews!
So many times the Gospel went out to the Jews...but they rejected it! That’s why in verse 12 Paul says…
(12) Rejection by the Jews was “riches for the Gentiles” – we gained by their loss
(13-14) Paul isn’t speaking of himself. He’s speaking of the ministry given him by God.
“magnify” – honor
- So Paul honored (valued) the ministry given to him by fulfilling the call of God to the Gentiles through him!
- Then Paul says in v14 – if by any way my people will be provoked to jealousy because of the relationship between Himself and the Gentiles...then so be it!
- The “jealousy” is the motivation God uses for the Jew to get saved!
