ISophocles was a famous Greek playwright whose works are renowned even now. In his play “Oedipus the King”, Sophocles presents many themes. One of these themes is ignorance and knowledge and it is presented to the audience through symbolism. Oedipus is the main character in this play, and he is the character that Sophocles manipulates to show how knowledge and ignorance impact the story.
