Over the past years the beautiful game of soccer has become very controversial in many ways. One of the biggest controversies is if the English Premier league and other big leagues in Europe. There are so many controversies about this and if it should become mandatory.
The first big reason why the English Premier league and all the big european should add the salary cap is because it would get rid of so many debts that these teams have. For example according to Dusan Lucic from Bleacher Report “In 2013 the premier league teams spent close to 1.6 billion dollars per year”. If they would introduce a salary cap and have every player around the same salary they would reduce the money they spend on wages and focus on other things. If these leagues would add the salary cap it would give them more money to spend on their transfer fees. According to Yoexpert.com they siad “a team like barcelona are spending close to 200,000 dollars a weeks per player, that is ridicouls”. Later on in the article they also mention that if the owner of Manchester city would leave in one week the club would start going bankrupt. This is that if a salary cap would be introduced into the EPL ( English Premier League) the history of these teams and the quality of these teams would not be looked at as an “elite” club it would be looked at as a normal club just like the other because they all would give him around the equal amount of money. According to the worldsoccertalk if the EPL would introduce the salary cap it would not protect the big clubs such as Manchester city,Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal etc. It would not protect them because a big club like Swansea city would have the same contract to offer as a Manchester United. But a smart player would not choose to go to the small club because he will not be able to play in the champions league or any of the big european
