Do you have explanations to backup your lies?Lying is could sometimes be acceptable when you are protecting others.Lying is sometimes acceptable.

According to Blanton lying is okay when he said,”f you are hiding Anne Frank in your attic because her life is in danger,” in article 3 paragraph 11
If Anne Frank was in danger,if someone was looking for her to kill her,in that case you have to lie that she’s not in your attic.Another reason would be if you tell your dad that your mom is fine, when she is not,you protect him.For example,if your mom tells you she had been diagnosed with cancer, but she said not to tell your dad because he has heart problems and might get an attack, you would not want to tell you dad so you would have to lie.

The Pacific leaping blenny is a small fish found on the tropical island of Guam. Its scientific name is Alticus arnoldorum and it has made one of the most tremendous ecological transitions over time. The Pacific leaping blenny effectively established its population on land through an evolved variety of adaptations, such as: the ability to move efficiently on land and being able to perform respiration through its skin while still relying on its gills. The fish are limited to the “splash zones” of the intertidal areas around the island of Guam, so that they can avoid desiccation. The fish, however, seemed to be terrestrial and would almost never return to the water.…

In a society where many people pride themselves on their honesty, condemning deceit as abhorrent and lies as cowardly, only a small percent glorify the ability to convincingly mislead others. While hiding behind lies is not the optimal approach, when used with a modicum of discretion, it can be the key to survival. In the widely read fictional story, The Scarlet Letter, Hester Prynne’s use of artifice was the support she needed to keep both herself and her daughter, Pearl, alive. While Hester appeared chastised, wearing bland clothing and donning the Scarlet Letter, her thoughts did not reflect the demure persona she had adopted.…

If you ask most people do you think lying is acceptable, majority of them will not hesitate and tell you yes, and then give you multiple reasons on why lying is a bad thing. But if you actually sit down and think, everyone lies several times a day sometimes without even knowing it because the lie was so small and meaningless. But in other occasions people lie to protect things they care for and about they are also willing to accept the consequences behind their lies and actions. Some may even feel that lying at that point of time it was acceptable due to the situation they are put in. In the short story “Someone Ought to Tell Her…

Part of lying is keeping the truth from others, which is crucial when the truth is hurtful, especially when this negative impact on others is perpetual. Still, lying is inevitable. In Stephanie Ericsson’s, “The Way We Lie” and Mark Twain’s, “On The Decay Of The Art Of Lying” both argue the rationale of lying. Ericsson states that lying is inappropriate and should not be practiced, while Twain believes lying is respectable when done right. Moreover, lying is an aspect of reality that should be embraced, but still at times avoided.…

Most evil people in the world are described as being liars, but does this does not make all lies evil. Everyone lies and surely not everyone in the world is evil. Most people begin to lie at age four, but no one would call an innocent child evil. Many people would argue that people lie because they solely want to be deceitful, but not all lies are as simple as that. Stephanie Ericsson in The Ways We Lie discusses many different types of lies, and why people tell these types of lies.…

Studies show that lying is sometimes acceptable in certain situations to prevent any harm that can be brought on an individual. Lying to protect an individual secures the situation by sugar coating a lie that is being performed. Misleading someone can cause harm such as trust issues and that reflects badly on the person who is lying. Lying must be taken into consideration when it could protect one another. For Example, in the article “It’s the Truth: Americans Conflicted About Lying” by Randy Cohen says, ¨In the AP-Ipsos poll, 65 percent of those questioned said it was sometimes OK to lie to avoid hurting someone's feelings.”…

Is it ok to lie in any situation, or is it just wrong to lie at all ? In four articles that I read, it states a couple of things, for example, they talk about lying and if it's bad, is lying sometimes good, and is lying good. I believe lying is only good sometimes and it should only be used in white lies. I think a good time to lie is when you protect someone. One scenario of this is the story of Ann Frank.this is a good example because they were protecting Ann and her family by saying that there was nothing upstairs.…

Everyone on Planet Earth is a liar; harsh but true. Every day we say “Yes, I am okay” or “No, I did not steal the cookie.” These are examples of the millions of lies told, big or small. In the short story The Ways We Lie, the author described ten types of lies: lies of delusion, lies of omission, lies of dismissal, or white lies (Ericsson 409-416). Upon reflection, I realized that I am guilty of telling many lies to save my image, to get out trouble, or to protect other people.…

As evidence, in the article, “The U.S. Political Campaign”, by Paul Gray states that “Anne Frank survived as long as she did because those sheltering her and he family lied to the nazis.” This connects to my argument because this shows that sometimes you have to lie in order to protect someone from a life or death situation. What I mean by this is lying is tolerable when it comes down to a dangerous situation. Additionally, in the article, “It's the Truth”, by NBC News, Cohen states that “An obvious example is when you’re lying to protect someone from serious harm.” To put this in another way, you need to lie to keep someone away from serious harm.…

People all around the world have had to respond to conflict at least once or twice in their lives whether they are just a normal everyday citizen or in some branch of the military. One example of conflict is World War Two when most of the world was at war with the Nazi's. In World War Two there was a young girl named Anne Frank who lived in hiding during the war so she would not be sent to a death camp. People should best respond to conflict by lying , hiding from conflict and writing about their conflicts.…

Honesty is the avoidance of knowingly deceiving yourself or others. Honesty means not lying, cheating, or stealing, whether it is done with malicious intent or not. This holds true even in situations where dishonesty seems like the easy way out. Perhaps one of the least considered, and possibly most difficult, aspects of honesty is being honest with oneself. Everyone has moments where lying may seem like the easy way out.…

In an interview with Robin Roberts, Robert Feldman, someone who has researched the subject of lies and deception for twenty plus years, said “We do it because it’s easy and because we get away with it and because it helps us in life” (Firestone). The human mind often assists in lying by helping the liar believe that by not telling the truth they are protecting someone else or themselves (Firestone). People are able to put their minds at ease when lying by convincing themselves that it is not that bad and that they are not doing anything wrong (Anonymous). It is not uncommon for people to only share information that they deem “safe” to tell and not tell everything; that is still a lie. It is a lie of omission, which at times is the worst kind of lie (Firestone).…
