Often, many students are burdened by responsibilities from home or school and do not have opportunities to talk with friends. The author, Nick Bolton, expresses how while fellow author David Carr is dead, he still is left on the Internet, “When I seek inspiration or something to make me smile, I sometimes find myself visiting David’s Twitter page… They, and other technologies connect us to people who are not with us, geographically or physically, and make us feel a little less alone in this big confusing world.” As told, technology allows us to connect with people who though not alive, still, have memories left available to reminisce. Similarly, his mother has died as well, but videos and emails she sent to Nick are still present and accessible. Unlike the 1800s, where most likely the remaining artifact of someone would be a photograph, people can leave a digital footprint for families and friends to remember them by. Technology keeps remnants of people after lost
