Blame In Shakespeare's Romeo And Juliet

Blame is the assigning of responsibility for someone’s fault or wrong. Often people result to blame in order to save themselves from being thought of negatively. People do not take accountability for their actions to result in a positive effect for themselves, having others put it the wrong. Blame had an immense impact on Romeo and Juliet’s death because they wished to be together in peace but being Capulet and Montague it was highly looked down upon. Friar Lawrence and Juliet’s parents did not benefit the situation but rather negatively impacted it which lead to Romeo and Juliet’s death. Friar Lawrence was very selfish in marrying Romeo and Juliet which made him partly responsible for their death. The marriage was very sudden and not planned well. In the Movie Friar had given Juliet a poison to fake her death and be reunited with Romeo in peace. Although the poison had worked, the letter that Friar had sent Romeo never reached him causing him to also believe Juliet was dead. Capulet and Lady Capulet both put a great deal of pressure on Juliet. For instance, when Capulet had stormed into Juliet’s room and began to yell at her because of her rejection to Paris’s marriage proposal. He threw her to the ground and said his fingers itch. Juliet then trembles and cries while pleading for her father to accept her request to not marry Paris.. This suggests that Capulet was physically abusive to Juliet. This puts forward the assumption that because Capulet was physically abusive it had lead to juliet wanting to get away so eagerly. As Capulet threw Juliet to the ground in the movie, the nurse was the only person who had stepped in, this making Juliet feel as if Lady Capulet and Capulet were not on her side.
