He first says he needs to fix the world before any other actor. He is implying a sense of urgency so he can save the world first and get all the fame and credit that comes with it. He later says he needs to find a solution before five because he has plans. This also helps him display a sense of urgency to save the world. This fails and shows that he is putting little to no effort in his mission to fix the world. He tries to use kairos to help further his point, but it really shows how little accountability he has and how little he actually cares about his cause.
Overall, the video “Climate Change (Kumail Nanjani)” is using ethos, pathos, logos and kairos to show the lack of accountability in celebrities. While it is important to note that this video uses satire and is only showing the extremes, it also shows a very relevant point to today’s world and how we are often eager to support a celebrity with a worthy cause. Often times, these causes can just be publicity stunts, and we as a society need to start holding people in power accountable for their words.
