Rumors swirled last season after the punching incident and continued into the offseason of Blake Griffin potentially being on the trade block. His character has come into question due to recent event one being a potential assault and the punching of a clippers trainer. We’ve seen it happen throughout the history of the NBA that athleticism does not translate to productivity later on in a player’s career. Whether it be Josh Smith, Baron Davis, Gerald Wallace, Steve Francis, or Amare Stoudemire athletic players who don’t expand their game don’t last long. But to Blake’s credit he has expanded his game tremendously, he’s improved as a shooter and is an extremely underrated passer. But now is the time to trade Blake the problems have come and gone, the media coverage has slowed …show more content…
He has shot about fifty-two percent from the field for his career and twenty-seven percent from three. Blake surprisingly enough considering his athleticism is a rather underwhelming rebounder in which he averages about eight and a half rebounds a game. Blake has had some damaging injuries throughout his career already and before his rookie year even he broke his kneecap and missed the entire season. Over the last two seasons Blake has played a total of 102 games out of a possible 164 games. Blake’s stats have slowly decreased over the past two years also but that could be attributed to injuries and lack of games played. There are a number or reasons for the Clippers to trade Blake Griffin but the most important of those being the fact that the Clippers haven’t and can’t win with the team they have now. While Blake was injured Chris Paul and Deandre Jordan looked like one of the best duos in the league throughout last season. When Deandre and Blake are on the floor together they do not complement each other at all due to their similar play
