This is when it was officially decided I would graduate from high school early so I joined IDLA’s 8-in-6 program. Ultimately this program sets you up to graduate a full two years early, but I got a late start so was only able to make it one year. Because of my extra online classes and skipping ahead, there was a lot of room left in my schedules for non-core classes. The extra room lead me to taking journalism classes and joining the yearbook team. I have learned many of the skills that I need to pursue this career already, but I plan to go onto ISU and minor in photo communications. There I will face a new adventure, but here I have learn all of the skills that I need to become the best photographer that I can be. I have also learned how to make people happy with the work that I have done. The face that someone makes when seeing the beautiful shots you have captured of them is mesmerizing. Until you have found something that you love, you will never understand what I am feeling, but when you do, you will be blown away. In that moment of realizing what you’re passionate about you will instantly feel gratification for the people that got you there. I have to thank Theresa Gallegos and Tanner Smith for showing me what I love and helping me improve my skills. However, I owe the biggest thanks to Blackfoot High School and the Blackfoot School District for the amazing yearbook program that they offer, the skilled teachers and updated equipment, and the opportunity to capture the life of a BHS student on camera.
