In beginning, the ethical issues related to the containment of aquatic animals in for-profit aquariums will be examined in this study. Cowperthwaite’s film Blackfish (2014) illustrates the ethical issues of containing orca whales, at Sea world, which led to the death of a animal trainer in its training facilities. More importantly, the ethical issue of monetary profit from using orcas as these shows defines the unethical use of aquatic animals that may not be safe for performance purposes. These ethical issues are problematic for Sea world and other private for-profit organizations, which overlook the dangers of wild animals in order to make a profit. This wrongful exploitation of Tilikum became an issue when he dragged down and drowned a Sea world trainer (Dawn Brancheau) in a holding tank. Ethically, Sea World was complicit in the death of the trainer, which is only compounded when it is reveled that Tilikum had also killed two other people in its former habitat Sealand in British Columbia. The use of breeding orcas for entertainment purposes was a major ethical error on the part of Sea World, which suggests animals of this kind should not be contained in these artificial environments. However, the profits made from using a large orca override the respect for human life, which has resulted in the death of various trainers that were told that Tilikum was safe. These are the dangers of for-profit institutions that seek to exploit animals through unsafe security measures, especially in the case of Tilikum as a breeding animal that was forced to perform in these artificial aquarium
