It is not humane to keep large mammals in zoos or theme parks. Dolphins, orcas, elephants and other mammals are very intelligent mammals with complex social constructs in which scientists studied for decades and yet are not fully understood (Laidlaw, 2016). They are being trapped in cages and are being taken out of their natural environment and climate. These animals are obligated to live in climate they never have come across (Harrison, 2014). The polar bear for example normally lives in cold and icy temperatures and they are being placed in humid areas such as San Diego California (Ruiz, 2016). In most cases, animals will also lose their natural instinct by not being allowed to breed, hunt for their prey, or do social activities. They become considerably tender as well as becoming more domesticated pets rather than wild animals. Losing their natural instinct causes them to suffer when they go back to the wild. These animals rely on the keepers to feed and take care of their daily needs. However, their movement might be restricted but they will not suffer from threats or stress of predators. They will be treated for irritation and pain of parasites, injuries and illnesses. Suffering or dying of starvation, would not be an issue due to the high-quality diet with all the nutrients required for each particular
