All Logic has to do is use the words people hear and see to draw in his audience. His lyrics never sugar coat his struggles of growing up in a broken household. Looking at just the words in the song, the reader is exposed to the understanding that he is misunderstood, but not by everybody. Logic’s audience happens to be the people ignorant of the history behind his race. If the audience of the song does not happen to know the history, it is that he is half black and half white but judging by appearance one would assume he is just white. This audience shapes the beliefs and issues of this song because they are the ones who put him in a stereotypical box. He is telling us to create a change of mindset in this world. The way Logic sings these lyrics are very important to the subtext of the lyrics and song as a whole. Since the song is more upbeat and positive it shows the level of being satisfied with himself not caring what people think but beyond that is the point of making a change on stereotyping in the world. Stereotypes are present throughout all races, genders, sexualities and cultures.
