One of the worst and most recent natural disasters ever recorded in Australia was Black Saturday which happened in Victoria on the 7th of February 2009. Temperatures reached a high of 48.8 °C and wind speeds were up to 110 kilometres.

The cause of this fire is due to many different things, but for all fires to start in the first place it needs materials that can burn like dried out leaves fuel), a source of ignition (heat) and a supply of oxygen. Some other confirmed causes of this devastating fire are power lines being knocked out and people who may have intentionally lit up the fire who are called arsonists. Other causes like drought, heat waves and fuel load contributed
