Pioneers as define in the book by Norman M. Davis, The Black Quarterback Syndrome are internal or external perceptions that are perceived self conscious people like myself. I am a Hispanic female that struggle with low self esteem. Although many people share they do not see me as having low self esteem, that in fact are my internal thoughts and feelings. My failure to conduct certain conversations define my behavior even though I make every attempt to be friendly with others. As Davis (2010) mention that empowerment can be gained by the self-confidence of individuals if we practice is definitely something I have to prepare myself prior to coming in contact with others especially those unknown to me.
