Black Moustache In Alice Walker's The Horse Dealer

Improved Essays
The first thing that caught my attention in the Horse Dealer’s daughter was Marble’s face being compared to a bull dog. I thought she must look pretty ugly then. I also liked the way the author described Joe, with black moustache that he twists. It made me chuckle and roll my eyes because I could actually imagine the character twisting his stupid mustache while speaking in an English accent. I felt really engage with the characters at that point. I love how they was introduce and the conversation between them. I felt like was I really there, watching this scene happen. Marble is the most interesting of them all. She’s the title character yet she fades in the background. I like that. You really get the feeling that she is introverted and different.
