Stereotypes often define Hispanics as drug addicts and same goes to blacks, when they have wounds and may need painkillers, they may not receive any. The doctors they have might think that they will overdose and use them as a drug instead of easing the pain from their wounds. If a white man had a broken leg, doctors will give them painkillers because stereotypically, white are goody-two-shoes who are businessmen and selfless. Without pain medications they will have to suffer countless nights trying to endure the pain. A way to fix this problem is to have doctors who are more open minded and faithful to helping people. If doctors are more open minded, they would not mind stereotypes and help people nether less. When people hear of this they stereotype all blacks into that category, therefore "black males are overrepresented among perpetrators of that violence" (Staples, 1). When blacks are grouped into a single division, people of another race may think they are all bad. This leading to police brutality and a possibility of death. Even if police kill an innocent, they are able to walk free since their defence could be “I thought he was armed” or “I was only doing my job to protect the people” and “I did not know”. Not to mention that blacks are stuck in the run-down places of cities and states, they do not have many opportunities to get out or get a job, unless someone who is generous enough to give them a second chance. Being stuck in the slums, there are many things that can pressure someone to do bad things, maybe rape, mugging, robbing, and maybe murder. A way to fix this problem is misconception is to have people be more understanding and for police to have proof before wrongly accusing some black guy. By enforcing or creating these kinds of rules, hopefully blacks can gain respect and the the level of police brutality could be
