Pessimistic Problems Of African American Society

Superior Essays
Pessimistic problems have recently surfaced in the United States causing many issues between the American Population. To imagine if one of the founding fathers were to see how America is today would be hideous. Thomas Jefferson would probably view America as a country that is spiraling out of control, which wouldn’t be completely out of proportion. The United States face many problems today including racial equivalency, poor political candidates, too many people on welfare, immigration laws, and the education system.
In the past few years, the African American population feels that they are being targeted by the white population, specifically white policeman. African Americans feel that whenever a crime is committed, or a traffic violation

Similar actions were taken by a man who had personal feelings against police officers. In July, five Dallas Policemen were shot and killed by a Black Lives Matter member during a protest. The five officers were at the rally trying to keep everything and everyone under control when suddenly their lives were taken from them. Children lost their fathers, wives lost their husbands, and parents lost their sons. The shooter felt no remorse. The police chief of Dallas continued to negotiate with the shooter, but it only exacerbated the situation. The shooter simply laughed it off as a joke by asking, “how many did I get”. After two hours of negotiating, the shooter was noncompliant and continued making threatening words and actions, which led to the killing of the perpetrator. “Blue Lives Matter” has been the topic of conversation throughout a plethora of different social media sites. The organization was created in honor of all policmen and women serving and protecting our cities and streets. All officers are united as a family and their main goal is to keep the American citizens safe from crime, and the response they get back is hostility and malicious behavior from the Black Lives Matter organization. Actions need taken to reinstall belief in our police officers, for them to stand up for themselves against the Black Lives Matter group terrorizing our …show more content…
He has previously shown his hatred for women, illegal immigrants, and African Americans. His most famous line is “build a wall”, which refers to the wall he plans on building along the Mexico-United States border. He stands firmly for deporting illegal immigrants who take American jobs away from American citizens. He sounds like he would make an impressive candidate, but when Americans hear “Donald Trump” and “Nuclear codes” in the same sentence, they worry. Donald Trump often refers to stopping the money train which leads over to foreign countries, but doing that can be both dreadful and satisfying. In order for this country to succeed, we must keep our ties with foreign countries as they are our main means of goods. To pull the money from some of those countries could also paint a bigger target on our backs. Doing that could lead to another terrorist act similar to 9/11. Donald Trump’s views on welfare excites many middle-class citizens.
The number of people on welfare is continuing to increase from year to year. The current number of people tops well over 100,000,000. Donald Trump continues to tell the American people that those numbers will decrease tremendously if he takes over as President. His plans to reduce those numbers are to deport those that are illegal and to create more jobs by bringing back companies that we have lost to surrounding countries, where it is

Why does Trump feel the need to deport millions of immigrants out of America? Well, Trump believes the crime and violence in America and the bad U.S. economy correlate with immigration. Nevertheless, in 2010 an analysis of the Census data, displayed only 1.6 percent of the male immigrants that were incarcerated, and 3.3 percent of them were native-born males. Regardless of the data, Trump is still willing to remove the immigrants from America, which will harm the U.S. economy. In addition to Trump 's views on immigration, the American Immigration Council…

How can we expect to be heard if we are trying to resolve violence with violence. Over the past few years there has been an ongoing war between the blacks and white police officers. Therefore I am not surprised about what happen to the five police officers in Dallas. As for the other two fatal shootings in Louisiana and Minnesota it saddens me that police brutality continues to be a cycle. Police…

Since January 1st of last year, 1,502 people were shot and killed by a police officer on duty in America. Of those deaths, 381 were African American. Although that number doesn’t seem very large at first glance, the African American population only makes up 13% of the overall U.S population, making this statistic quite alarming (Lowery, 2016). Police brutality towards African American’s has been a prevalent issue in recent years, which in-turn has created a movement referred to as Black Lives Matter. The message behind Black Lives Matter is that every person deserves equal rights and treatment, no matter their skin color or race.…

This case sounds similar to a lot of the police killings that are being publicized nationally all over the news; some ending in mass hysteria with entire communities protesting and culminating in riots and violent skirmishes with the police. The only difference from those high profile police violence and this one, is that you don’t know Dillon Taylors name. There were no riots in Salt Lake City after the news broke of Dillon’s death at the hands of police, no websites and movements promoting equality and justice. That is because Dillon was like the majority of citizens in the United States.…

Are you afraid to mention race, religion, or other touchy subjects when arguing the morality of public policies? In Michael Sandel’s book, “Justice: What’s The Right Thing To Do?” he explains that we must not suppress our moral disagreement by avoiding our fellow citizens moral and religious convictions. I agree that we need a more robust and engaged civic life, where we are not afraid to mention any idea or moral/religious issue with public policy.…

“Black Lives Matter” Movement & Police Brutality As much as the subjects of “Black Lives Matter” and police brutality are getting stale and cliché, unfortunately it is still an issue that will not be corrected by hushed complaints and sweeping under the rug. However, this problem is not brand new; it has only escalated. Racial discrimination began in the times of slavery and has been an issue since—well forever. The discrimination has been toughest on minorities—like the African-American community. Along with the racial discrimination from society itself, some police and law enforcement figures have often abused their power and taken advantage of their place in the majority race.…

Police Brutality When cops continually use their training and tactics in ways that brutally harm and injure people, it is unjustly wrong. It is becoming an assumption that white cops are purposely targeting African American citizens. Cops are rushing to conclusions and taking lives or seriously injuring people. Once these citizens are injured it makes it very hard for them to believe in or even trust the law, which in turn is causing a major concern nationwide. Take for instance the Michael Brown “Hands up, don’t shoot” incident that happened on August 9, 2014.…

The United States is said to be the land of the free for all people, no matter who you are. Even though that is said to be the case, there are still many problems with racial profiling between the African American people and the police community. This has been a major dilemma since the Civil Rights Movement. In this paper, I will connect the 4 stages of conflict emergence, Identity, Grievance, Contentious Goals, and Redress, to the injustice of police brutality and then apply a source of power to each conflict emergence. The first conflict emergence is identity.…

Driving while black has an effect on many people whether they are young or old and any race other than white. Driving while black is racial profiling and this is a big problem in the black community and it needs to be fixed. The definition of racial profiling according to ACLU it is “the discriminatory practice of targeting individuals for suspicion of crime based on the individual’s race, ethnicity, religion or national origin.” This means that someone discriminates solely because they are different from him or her. Being stopped because he or she is black is something that hinders communities from growing.…

This is just one example of the violence that has been uncovered by media and shown to the rest of the country, with the Black Lives Matter name front and center. It was also reported that these protesters shouted crude and degrading things about the downed officers, in celebration. While…
