Since the incident in 2012 happened when Travis Martin, a black young unarmed man, was gunned down by the volunteer neighborhood watch named George Zimmermann. Society’s interest in this particular case continued when Zimmermann found not guilty. Regarding to this particular case which did not just receive national, but also international attention, the Black Lives Matter movement was established. The activist movement Black Lives Matter is a movement against racism and police violence against the black community.
