The Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement is an excellent example of this. BLM make their mark by standing up against police brutality and racism in America, claiming simply, that black lives matter. While 2016 presidential candidate Ted Cruz claims that BLM is “literally suggesting and embracing and celebrating the murder of police officers”, most of the democratic candidates agree that there is a racial bias in America, one that affects the incarceration of minorities (Lerner, 2015) (Reilly, Lerner, 2015).
