The black lives matter movement is trying to change the way black people are being discriminated against, and to bring awareness about how society has made black people look inferior compared to white people. To improve civil rights, the black lives matter movement has brought to attention the oppression, and discrimination against Black people around the world. Diversity relates to social welfare because social workers are taught to treat everyone in a respectful manner, even if their opinions don’t compare to yours. I treat people the same way that I want to be treated, but at times I unconsciously end up showing different behaviors around other people of color, even though I’m a person of color as well because society has created an image
