Cancer Sticks You said you love me. From the moment you said that, those words became my bible, and I worship it until the moment our ship began to sink. My heart was broken like the family I come from. I never liked opening myself to people and letting people in, because I know people are only out for themselves, and will only hurt me.…
Racism is the belief that one race is fundamentally superior to another, leaving the other race potentially more dangerous, violent, and more likely to be the cause of problems. Despite any real evidence, many believe this is true. Brent Staples, author of “Black Men and Public Spaces” shares some of his own experiences, as being an African American man himself and many of his troubles caused by his race. Staples, being African American, has been mistaken for a criminal countless times.…

I don’t believe that I was ever as excited or nervous as I was that night. My room seemed heated; I don’t know if it was from all the lights and curling irons I had on or if it was the anticipation of the night before me. A sea of clothes that I had decided just wouldn't do concealed the floor and shoes were strewn everywhere. After finally deciding to wear my blue sweater, the one Mom told me brought out my eyes, I drowned myself in Justin Biebers' Boyfriend perfume, and I was ready for my first date.…
On Saturday, February 6th, I traveled to the 8th Annual Tack Swap hosted by the Stark County Jr. Fair 4-H Horse Committee at the Stark County Fairgrounds. This was the first time I had ever been to this event and I was attending to assist my good friend Amy with her booth. Amy is the owner and operator of a small scale western wear store, City Limits Western, which was going to be displayed at the tack swap and her husband Dusty, our friend Adriana, and myself were all recruited to help her out. The day began with us waking up around five thirty in the morning to finish loading the last few pieces of merchandise onto the trailer. We threw our clothes on and hustled outside into the cold air to finish the packing and get on the road in hopes…
This paper examines the second critical thinking question found at the end of chapter 7 in Robert Aberle 's text, The Administration of Justice an Introduction to the Criminal Justice System in America. I will present a discussion highlighting the “differences between probable cause and reasonable suspicion and what each of these levels of evidence allow a police officer to do” (Aberle 2014). Aberle 's accretions will be presented and contrasted with my own. First off I 'm going to start with reasonable suspicion for this is most of the time the first step to probable cause. What is reasonable suspicion in Robert Aberle 's text this is how he describes reasonable suspicion "Reasonable suspicion can be defined as the level of…

I sat at the table in the counselor's office room, uncomfortably tight headphones on my ears. Taking the the hearing and vision screening test for the first time ever. Beeps pulsed through my ears, I gave a thumbs up for every beep I heard, and before I knew it, the test was over. I walked out, without giving any thought to the events that had just occurred. What was there to consider?…

Bad decisions, makes the best stories. Truitt Odom One way to get the most out of life is to look upon it as a adventure. ~ William Feather. It was summer, one month after my 17th birthday, and, even though I had a lot of great adventures with the people I loved, I still wasn 't satisfied. So I took of work, grabbed my two best friends, Trey and Parker, and we set out on nonstop adventure for 3 days, which led to a Whataburger bill of over $100, running from security, meeting and talking to complete strangers, 4 hours of sleep, killer stories, a run in with the cops, a few tanks of gas, and what would this story be with coming close dying once or twice, I mean its only in my nature.…
I do not remember exactly the particular day but all I remember was that it was very humid and the sky was cloudy. It was just a few days before I joined first grade and I had just arrived home from my neighbors. I was utilizing my last few days of freedom and hence was tired and hungry.
