I was just an ordinary day when My sister and I was going outside to wait for the bus when we looked up at the sky at the same time in the same a horrific way ‘’Black Blizzard take cover’’!We both yell at the same time.
It Is’t even seven A.M and the sky is as dark as the black top at my school. In the distance all I can see is dry dirt 6,000 feet high running towards us. We go back inside and go over out plan fist I get all the towels in the house and we wet them so when the dirt comes in some of it at least will turn to mud. Then we put them in the all the cracks of the doors as tight as we can to hope that maybe nothing will come in. We keep us two to put over our faces so we won’t get anything in our eyes. When start to head to the back of the house when I stop and look out of the window and see all these animal running to find shelter before it get to them. When we get inside we shut the door and hide in the corner of the room. As it gets closer we start to panic we have never been throw this alone without someone to tell us what to do. I really start to panic when I think about our father if he ever found shelter and if he is ok he is all we have got so we need him to stay alive for us.

When I look outside and see what has happened I am in the most shock I have ever been in. The dust storm destroyed the land we live on and our economy. I start to go further when I start to hear someone screaming help please in a low but high

As the assignment requires we write an annotated bibliography of a newspaper article, and since an annotated bibliography requires in-depth knowledge on the subject, I knew exactly which article to write about. This past April I performed with Shakespeare Carolina in their production of The Winter’s Tale; we received a sparkling review from Charlotte’s toughest critic, Perry Tannenbaum. Since this was such a joyous occasion for the entire cast, I knew it would be fitting to annotate this review for my assignment, as I can use my personal connection with the article to truly illustrate the content. First, I pulled the newspaper from my personal records and read it once again in order to remind myself of every detail of the article. I then critically…

Armistice Day, November 11 to November 12, 1940 was one of the worst blizzards to hit the Midwest following the Schoolhouse Blizzard in 1888. This blizzard affected the states in between, and including Nebraska to Michigan. November 11th, which would later become known as Veteran’s Day, on this day schools and many businesses were closed in order to observe the day. Fall in the Midwest had been “warm and uneventful” creating less than ideal conditions for duck hunters (Washburn, 2008). This day back in 1940 would also become known as the most infamous duck hunt in the United States.…

The sky is dark, damp, and warm, the slight red undertones are glowing through the clouds. I never expected something like this to happen in my short lifetime, Mauna Loa was erupting for the first time in twenty-five years. I watched as the ash rained down on the roofs of nearby houses, coating the entire town in what could have been perceived as warm, black snow. I felt my heart rise into my throat, causing me to choke out a dry sob. I was twenty-one, I finally had a house, and now I was going to die in this massive storm of lava and rubble.…
