It felt like there was a gigantic elephant in the room as we walked around and with every step the weight of the elephant got heavier and heavier. The cashier was a white man but his skin was as red as a tomato which made me believe he had been in the sun for too long. His hair was the same dark shade of mud and if i hadn’t known better i would’ve actually thought it was mud. I didn't see his eyes but I can assume they were a bottomless pit of darkness, and if i were to look in his eyes i would get lost in the abyss of hatred. He was wearing a blue shirt, i think it was his uniform but i honestly don't know. We didn't interact much other than him following us around and when we bought our stuff. Ever since that day I never forgot that moment when we were in that gas station. All I wanted to get was a bag of gummy worms and a mountain dew, I never knew i would also get a whole gas station’s attention. When in the middle of the door frame about to walk out i hear this nasty sound of someone mumbling and in the midst of a whole bunch of words being spoken it stopped for a second. The next thing i hear is the n-word plain and simple. I'm pretty sure i'm the only one that heard it though so I just let it be. All I wanted to do was to get as far away as possible from the gas
