While a majority of the community is in need of renovation it is an old community that has character. The community’s outstanding assets are the Renaissance mall, the Natchez Trace Parkway and museum, and St. Andrews private school. These attract people of upper class who add value to the community. What I found most striking about this community is how clean it is. It is clear that the members of the community take pride in their city and want to keep it clean and neat. The biggest challenge for Ridgeland is competing with Jackson and Madison. Ridgeland offers many assets, but there are times when one may need to travel to Jackson or Madison to find what they are looking for. This deters people from living in Ridgeland because they do not want to make to commute to bigger cities. The most unexpected thing that I found in the community was how many fast food restaurants located in Ridgeland. There are over twenty-five fast food restaurants in the city of Ridgeland that can be view as a determinate of health. In the future it would benefit

I conducted my windshield survey in Clinton Township, MI. While driving I noticed a good amount of people running and riding their bikes on the trail that leads to metro beach. Nearby were quite a few medical buildings; these findings make me believe that health is an important factor for the community. The roads are decent with a few pot holes. There was a lot of traffic on metro parkway (at 3:30pm); this gives me insight that this community is a working community.…

These reasons all contribute to racially segregated neighborhoods. Minorities cannot afford this lifestyle found in Elmhurst because the economy has created an inflation on these rich neighborhoods. In the suburbs of Chicago, there is a separation of not just race, but there is a separation between the lower, middle, and wealthy classes due to social differences in society.…

As I sit here I’m aggravated of the accusations by people who remain ignorant of what essentially goes on in areas they don’t frequently visit. Therefore, this writing is inspired by two things, the first is the media and secondly a favorite song of mine by Tye Tribbett andGreater Anointed entitled “Good in the Hood”. For decades, there have been misconceptions of people who represent African, Asian, European, and Spanish descent that produce the “Lower Income” group or those that reside in what is recognized as “The Hood”. I will not bore you with statistics or government reports; instead I will tell you regarding the impressive people who come from the identical environment in which I came from. It’s annoying to no conclusion how mass media and other forms of media put uninformed minorities on display.…

Ridgeology, Edgeoscopy, and Poroscopy After more than thirty years of law enforcement service with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, David R. Ashbaugh focused his research and expertise on the science of ridgeology (Encyclopedia.com, 2005). Ridgeology refers to the method of evaluating friction ridge skin, as a means of identification, based on scientific principals and procedures. Ridgeology differs from Dactyloscopy as it is the forensic examination of all friction ridge skin, or volar pads, and is not limited to just ridges of the finger tips. Because of ridgeology, forensic identification has become more dynamic as scientists are acknowledging friction ridge skin on the palms of the hands, soles of the feet and toes is just as telling as the uniqueness of fingerprints from person to person.…
