In the video “Forget big change, start with tiny habits” directed by BJ Fogg he talks about how to change your behavior. He explains after you do a tiny behavior that you want to repeat in the future you must reward yourself by celebrating immediately. One way is telling yourself, "you are awesome" or by a dance or a cheer/shout. BJ Fogg is an example of how to effectively change your behavior. He would do two push after he pees and then celebrate and then slowly increased his number to 8 or 12. Fogg brings out the point that changing your behavior is not hard, it is systematic. Long-term change happens in only two ways- changing environment including social environment or make tiny changes- a tiny change is easy to repeat and making automatic. We need to design the behavior that leads to the outcomes we want. To change behavior, habits matter the most and we must change and create them little by little. BJ Fogg gives another example of himself when he used a scale that tweet his weight, but it did not have an impact on him. So, he changed and created many tiny habits that …show more content…
He has a note of not eating a cookie in the cafeteria, but instead, he still eats the cookie. So, he studies why he acts that way that leads him to a doctor who experiments on rats. Th doctor did an experiment on rats where she put sensors in its brain- to measure its brain activity, and then put the rat in a simple maze. The rat would act lazy and spends thirty minutes to get to the chocolate. Many think the rat is dumb, instead, the brain is full of activity and pleasure. The doctor does this 150 time and as finding the chocolate becomes an automatic habit the rat starts thinking less- are in a sleep-like mode. This relates to us because forty to forty-five percent of the decisions we make are habits instead, and we will power down at that time, in a sleep-like
