For example, if the first kid, or in this case the first kids in the family are twins, then they may have the personality and characteristics of first borns. The same thing could happen if a set of twins were the middle children, or the last born children. Twins may jump the categories of birth order during their lives because of the power they may hold over one another could change (Fierro 2). They can do something that the oldest child would get in big trouble for, and they can get out of it with no punishment. The downside of being the last born is they think that “less is expected from them, they can come to expect others to fix things or take responsibility for them” (“Birth Order”).
