All three of these men played a part in the creation of the pill, and they all contributed in various ways. Many people today believe many, if not all, forms of birth control is harmful, ineffective, and fatal. While this may be true for some particularly risky methods, this is also the case with every medicine and implantable devices that are on the market today. Not one person should be in the dark when it comes to being aware that there are bound to be side effects that one must be familiar with when considering birth control. However, claiming the birth control pill kills women and fetuses is an exaggeration on their part. Organizations across the globe have been formed just to protest the use of the oral contraption. For the most part, organizations used blatant lies, exaggerations, and fear tactics in order to get their point across instead of relying on the truth. For example, Alexandra Lible from Live Action News writes “A new study on birth control by the British medical journal, BMJ, reports that newer birth control pills increase the risk of blood clots, a condition called venous thromboembolism, by twofold.” While this is true due to the medications being added to the birth control pills, there was always a trouble with blood clots when taking the oral contraption.
