The development of the pill was commissioned by birth-control pioneer Margaret Sanger and Katharine McCormick who opened the first birth-control clinic in the U.S. in 1916. In the early 1950’s Gregory Pincus began work on a birth-control pill doing clinical tests on the pill. The birth-control pill is also used to get rid of acne and to keep it from coming.
