Birth Control Access:
Making America a Better Place
What does the average person think of when they hear “birth control accessibility”? The right to contraceptive medication does not include the legal right to abortions, in fact, it actually decreases the need for them. It is an important part of women’s right and conclusively, everyone’s rights. That’s what anyone should think when they hear those three words. Birth control should be accessible to women nationally because it slows abortion rate, it is virtually a legal right, and is fundamental to women 's equality. There is a plethora of evidence suggesting that when access to contraceptives is increased, the abortion rate has slowed nearly to a stop. If only people would realize that

This is not beneficial to women but they are blind-sighted and do not see how this is harmful to men as well. Societarily, men and women need to work together and act as one unit rather than maintaining a sad, immature notion that they should be in competition with one another. Access to birth control in the U.S. has helped narrow the income inequality gap between men and women by as much as 30 percent during the 1990s alone (Zott). Since women have been able to make the decision to have a baby at their own free will, they have sequentially had more time to hone their career skills. As a result, more than half of the U.S. 's doctors are women now. A society 's well-being relies on women flourishing and ultimately leads to equality and unity. This is fundamentally enveloped within America 's values of freedom and justice for all. Blatantly lying and using women as pawns in a political game is wrong. It was one of the bloodiest years in the organization 's history, as unborn casualties climbed to 333,964- enough to fill Yankee stadium six times (Perkins). Reading the arguments against the federal funding of Planned Parenthood are very difficult to take seriously. The facts are poorly checked and cited and almost seem made up. The information seems very farfetched and similar to scare tactics and propaganda. However, the most serious argument pro-life citizens have seems to be the funding of Planned Parenthood. Nonetheless, Planned Parenthood still receives more revenue from private funders and none from government services. This totals to about 775 million, in opposition to the 528.4 million generated by the government. Any abortion services are funded by Medicaid and not technically the government. Poor women growing up in crime ridden areas are suffering as a consequence of human selfishness. Children born to girls who are barely out of

The middle class back in the 1960s was not opposed to the ideal fact of poor black women substancing a birth control pill to stop them from having children. The argument for this time was the middle class wanted them not to take the pill, The counter argument that African American women at the time questioned by the authorities were that they were afraid if the whites made them take birth control pills than they control how many kids they are having. One article reads “ Under slavery, African American women were encouraged to have children to increase a plantations owner’s wealth. After the Civil War, when African Americans were no longer valuable property, the view among white supremacists abruptly shifted. It became desirable to decrease…

Planned Parenthood should not lose any funding or be shut down. Despite recent abortion controversies, Planned Parenthood should not be held responsible for pro-abortion advocates. The organization is pro-choice, and intends to give the choice back to the people in order to allow them to choose a better life for themselves. If Planned Parenthood loses its funding or gets shut down, people everywhere, but especially low-income families, will be put in a difficult standing in affordable health care and wellness. Furthermore, shutting down Planned Parenthood would put many people at a greater health risk than they have now, and worst yet, it will not end abortion.…

Planned Parenthood is the reason social moderates keep on assaulting abortion, as well as contraception in case one is against abortion and contraception, it is not just about abortion. Also, it is the reason Planned Parenthood has turned into a talisman to one side, an image of what they fear most ladies controlling their own, particular regenerative predetermination. 66% of the 1 million premature births in this nation are undertaken by private professionals other than Planned Parenthood, yet there are no mass dissents and…

Out of the numerous services that Planned Parenthood offers the public, only three percent of all of their procedures are abortions; meaning that ninety-seven percent of everything they do is basic health care and other medical services. Cecile Richards, the President of Planned Parenthood, lists the statistics in her article, Today, We Fight Back, “every year, 2.7 million people come through the doors of our health centers, a million people participate in our sex education programs, and 60 million people get health information and other resources from us online.” Since the Republicans who drafted this bill often focus on abortion, they completely ignore all of the good that Planned Parenthood does for the community. Getting into doctor’s offices can be incredibly long and hard process, as documented in Cecile Richards’ article; she talks about a woman that she met who, after her husband lost his job, lost their health insurance. After finding a lump on her breast, she only found two clinics that would take her on as a patient, but they had two-month long waiting lists, so she went to Planned Parenthood.…

The problem I have chosen to identify falls within the defunding of Planned Parenthood. Once again this issue has become a heated debate among the republican and democratic members of congress. The democrats in the senate as well as President Obama are being blamed for any government shutdown that may occur due to their persistence in protecting the services provided and the funding allocated by the federal government that is legal as well as ethical. Planned Parenthood has been a financial supporter of Obama’s presidential campaign in the past, which republicans say proves that some type of corruption is now taking place between the two entities. The major accusation that Planned Parenthood has been accused of is profiting from the sale of aborted fetal tissue and by promoting this practice, increases the number of abortions that are being performed without offering any other type of solution to the unwanted pregnancy.…

Women’s rights has been an issue in the United States since the early 1800’s and until all people are comfortable discussing the fact that in many parts of the world, women have no say in what they can do with their bodies or how it’s treated. A woman should be the only one who can decide what is best for her body. There is only so much that women can do when the one place that helps women with checkups and abortion based questions, Planned Parenthood, is being defunded or closed down. “The House of Representatives is expected to pass a budget reconciliation bill that guts the Affordable Care Act, pulls roughly $450 million in federal assistance from Planned Parenthood and prevents Medicaid recipients from getting reimbursed…
