In third grade creative writing was encouraged, however was not taught. Cursive, reading comprehension and subjects pertaining to those were drilled into our heads. However, expressing ourselves through writing just had to come naturally and my imagination went rampant. I have to say my passion started with a story about gum. As I wrote I grew an attachment to my writing wanting to develop it as one would raise a child. Helping it to a more mature state. My reading of course did not take a backseat to this, as I would naturally improve my skills of comprehension as I improved my writing. I was consuming as many books as to get an idea for new stories or charactors. Sometimes if I found myself lost ina plot going nowheire or worried my wrting style would be to simple I would pick up new books to get a different perspective. With this my vocabulary and reading compreshension was taken to new levels and it was a challenge for me to find novels that did not get
