When somebody hears the words bipolar disorder they think of somebody being moody all the time. It’s not only about being moody it can be about changes in energy, in the way people think, and it can affect their behavior. Bipolar disorder is associated with mood swings ranging from depressive lows to manic highs; there are a variety of symptoms and treatments.
Bipolar disorder is a brain disorder that causes unusual shifts in moods, energy, activity levels, and the ability to carry out normal everyday tasks. Nearly six million adults are affected with bipolar disorder. Being bipolar usually happens in a persons teen years. Bipolar disorder differs depending on the person ( http://www.dbsalliance.org).
The first and main mood of bipolar disorder is mania. Mania is when ideas start to form in a person’s brain and they can 't help it. During mania some symptoms are a person may start talking rapidly, they could get easily distracted, have reckless behavior, such may have impulsive sexual indiscretions, and abuse of alcohol or drugs. There are many other signs of mania that a person can have, like a person talking a mile a minute, or they can even feel like they are very powerful (http://www.webmd.com).
