Bipolar disorder is a mental illness that changes mood, energy, sleep, thinking and behavior. A person suffering from this disorder can go from mania to depressive meaning that a person can be feeling very happy and outgoing to feeling sad and being worthless between a few days, or even between a couple of months. Anyone can get bipolar disorder regardless of age, sex, race. Demi Lovato who went to rehab in 2010 for depression, eating disorder, and self harm found out she had bipolar disorder after she entered rehab. In an interview she told People Magazine "I never found out until I went into treatment that I was bipolar." She said in a another interview "Now I live well with bipolar disorder,""Happiness is a choice. Life is a rollercoaster. You can make the highs as amazing as possible, and you can control how low the lows go." Scott Stapp a found member of the band Creed said in a interview with People Magazine that he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. At first I just went to go see the movie because I am a big fan of Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence but after watching it I learned a lot about the disorder. I learned how people act and how it can be treated. In my opinion instead of making movies about vampires and movies being pointless they should instead make more educational movies so that people can actually have fun while learning something new. Back then movies weren’t a big impact but now society takes over. Even little kids watching movies want to be a certain character like Batman. The movie Silver Lining Playbook has been praised for showing a positive side of mental illness and not like in news where they share negative stories. Also this film at the box office made $236.4 million worldwide meaning that even it involved a mental illness many people came to watch the movie. Not only that but it received eight Academy Awards nominations which includes best picture, best director, best adapted screenplay and best film editing and not only that but Jennifer Lawrence winning the Academy Award for Best
