Biotherapies Video Analysis

Although the video was a bit slow paced, I enjoyed watching it. It was very informative and encompassed many aspects of BioTherapies. I enjoyed listening to Dr. Taylor discuss trepanation. One of my favorite television series, Teen Wolf, featured a man who had drilled a hole in his own head and I can vaguely remember that term being used. Now, I actually know what it means. There’s much you can learn through reading about different psychological disorders and concepts. The book “First Person Plural: My Life as a Multiple” by Cameron West specifically explains the life of Cameron West living with Dissociative Identity Disorder. I chose this book because of my uncertainty and intrigue about DID and the everyday struggles of multiples. Because this book is based on the actual accounts of Cameron West, I felt I got a better understanding of DID and could really get a feel for the thoughts and feelings of this man through his journey of dealing and coming to terms with his disorder. At the end of the book, I had gone through a whirlwind of emotions from sadness because of Cams past to have developed DID to utter joy that he learned how to accept it and lived a happier life.…

The ultrasound was interesting and disturbing at the same time because we all have sex but we never really think about what our bodies go through. I personally googled it and found this website called iflscience.com that had the entire video which was almost 4 minutes and showed the whole process. I also watched her interview and even thought the whole word saw her having sex on an ultrasound she was just very laid back, funny and even went into details such as that her husband drank a Viagra.…

Richard Brooks infused strikingly similar dialogue between characters and key events into the movie, although many minor details were lost. Because of the extraction of these details the overall mood is less intense than the book.…

When the video talked about how children were sent away to boarding school because their parents did not know how to handle them or communicate with them, it broke my heart. These children did not have regular communication with their families so they seemed to rely on the other children for love and support.
