Have you ever wondered when there comes a point in time where one might be able to see tiny germs without the use of a microscope? Well the time has come, scientists have created a type of bionic lens that allow humans to zero in on the tiniest of objects without the assistance of a third item such as the microscope. For hundreds of years, scientists have been using the microscopes to make major discoveries such as proving the existence of minuscule living organisms that cannot be seen to the naked eye. This surgical process only takes eight minutes with your sight retuning back to normal within seconds. Webb says that with his procedure, which takes just eight painless minutes, every person could have extraordinary eyesight. Dr. Garth Webb, an optometrist in British Columbia who invented the Ocumetics Bionic Lens, says patients would have perfect vision and that driving glasses, progressive lenses and contact lenses would become a dim memory as the eye-care industry is transformed. Instead of working like a contact lens, the Bionic Lens acts similarly to cataract surgery, adhering to the eye’s natural lens. The procedure can be done in an out patient office, its steps simply having a saline solution with the lens flushed into the eye with a syringe. After 10 seconds, the folded lens opens up, and moves itself over the eye’s natural lens.
