In 2010, I had a major surgery for my pectus excavatum. Being an adventurous youngster while staying at a hospital for over a month, I set out on an adventure everyday on my wheel chair with my IV fluid hanging. My delight in science drove me to the Clinical Pathology Center where I would peek over the window and ask all types of questions about biology, from culturing bacteria, to skin grafting. I learned that you can help someone medically even without becoming a surgeon or specialized doctors. On top of taking four rigorous High Level courses including 3 Sciences and English, I was accepted to the National Honors Society, became one of the junior leaders of Seungil Hope Foundation (ALS), and continued with multiple co-curricular activities such as Model United Nations, Jazz Band, Cross Country and Swimming. Organizing my time to accommodate all these activities was a great learning experience, and I took these challenges.
