The lowest college degree one can get to qualify is a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering from a certified program. If a bachelor’s in biomedical engineering is not attained, getting a graduates degree in biomedical engineering with the bachelors in any field of engineering or on-the-job training will be acceptable also. There are many colleges that offer these degrees. Some of them are: University of Washington, University of Hawaii at Manoa, and John Hopkins University. University of Washington has one of the best biomedical engineering program in the nation tying ninth place with Rice University and Boston University. The good thing about University of Washington is that they determine who attends their school using holistic reviews. With that said, good grades with rigorous courses and high test scores will increase your chances of getting accepted and paying around $50,000 in total for out of state tuition. University of Hawaii at Manoa is the closest and most affordable college that I can attend. As of now, the current tuition in state is around $10,000. An average grade point average of 2.8 and SAT scores above 510 in all three areas make it a match and safety school for most people. In the video, Billy Lu was the person that was giving out the information. I remembered him and thought maybe he could help me. Accidentally, I stumbled upon his instagram page. I requested an interview via email and he responded right away. Billy is a quality engineer at a medical device company. He has studied biomedical engineering in college and has experienced many roles closely related to biomedical engineering. Going over the interview, based on his experience and expertise, biomedical engineering is a job that requires lots of time. Even if you study one basic aspect of biomedical engineering, changing jobs will most likely be inevitable. The jobs it offers will not make me rich, but it will be enough to meet my basic needs.
