To wander into the domain of science is to seek after a way of vast disclosures and to have the chance to venture into such a field and widen my insight has always been an enthusiasm of mine. Biology has always enticed me, as learning about the way our body is particularly 'engineered' to battle against infection, has constantly grasped my interests. What fascinates me most about the workings and mechanics of the human body is how it constantly overcomes the many challenges to fight for survival. As my curiosity spikes I constantly ask myself questions like: why do our adapted bodies sometimes fail to protect us? How can such complex illness be treated? How can we avoid such circumstances? My aim is to achieve greater understanding in research, diagnosis and particularly the treatment of disease and to be able to practice this. My future aspirations are to able to explore the world of human biology and strive to find out more about our species but most importantly I want to be able to use my knowledge and understanding to help others in need. In order for me to achieve my goals I believe the biomedical field is a course that best …show more content…
Studying biology and chemistry has given me the foundation knowledge which I am hoping to broaden. Chemistry at AS has helped me develop my laboratory and practical skills such as titration experiments, which is a key asset in the biomedical field. Both biology and chemistry gave me an analytic way of thinking as I am now confident in interpreting and evaluating data. Psychology is a subject that requires deeper thinking as we must go beyond the obvious answer thus developing critical thinking skills. It has also allowed me to develop my debating and application skills as we must apply studies to real life applications and theories too research. Ethics and Philosophy
