Well, I have, and this is why I am trying really hard to accomplish my goals of becoming a doctor for I believe that with that event I can change my life and others too. I am Danaika F. Desir, a young black girl who migrated to the United States, seven years ago to chase the American dream through education, and the sole purpose: to one day become a successful physician. This also meant that my life consisted of a series of homework and studies. In order to accomplish these goals, there are certain requirements that I must successfully meet. This is why I truly need to be a part of the Rutgers’ Biomedical careers program (BCP). This program is necessary for my path to becoming the best doctor that I can be. BCP provides the opportunity for students to take classes that are necessary for medical school, prepare students for the MCAT while also providing research and clinical experiences greatly needed. Besides this program is a blessing for a first generation college student and future doctor like myself because it offers what I need in order to become eligible for Medical school. BCP will allow me to be one step closer to my goal by not only teaching me the materials that I need for medical school, but also by giving me the clinical and research skills that I lack. With BCP, I will feel more comfortable

During this time, I continued to increase my knowledge as a medical scribe by transitioning from emergency medicine to surgical orthopedics. Here, I was introduced to the role of surgical PAs in an outpatient setting, which exposed me to another side of the PA career.…
