Biology Evolution Lab Report

Introduction: In biology, evolution is the process in which different types of living organisms are believed to have developed and changed since its early stages during earth’s history. For instance, as a species evolves over time they begin to develop new traits though they also begin to lose other traits. Basically evolution is change. However, evolution is only seen as a reliable theory. Evidence that scientist have to prove evolution as a reliable theory are fossils and relative dating. In this lab report, I measured 11 skulls and based on the measurements, I will try to either prove if my hypothesis of the amount of organisms that bipedal is either correct or incorrect.

As previously done, record your results onto your data table. 7. Now you will record the Opisthion Index. Simply divide the first measurement by the second measurement. Multiply that number by 100 and record your answer. 8. Once that is completed, continue doing this with the remainder of the skulls and write down the measurements in the data table. 9. For the next step, we will be taking the measurements for the prognathism of the of the skull. In order to so lay the skull on its side so it’s parallel to the table. 10. Using the protractor point the socket where the mandible meets the cranium. The smaller the angle the higher the likelihood of prognathism. 11. Record the measurements once more in your data table and continue doing so with the remainder of the skulls 12. For the remainder of the measurements needed, simply measure the length, width, and height of the skull. Both the height and width will be measured from the back of the skull while the length will be measured from the side. 13. Record the measurements for all of the skulls and write down on your data
