The career I have chosen for this project is a biologist. The role of a biologist can consist of multiple different studies, but primarily focuses on living things. Some biologists study things as small as the molecules that form organisms, how they work, and how they combine to create a working living thing. Others take a look at the ecosystems that contain living things. Biology can include experiments in a lab, or hands-on field studies. Despite low physical demands, a Career in biology can be very tedious, as high mental skills are required. For example, a very high skill in science is mandatory to pursue a biology career. Other important skills include mathematics, critical thinking, reading comprehension. Lesser important skills include monitoring, learning strategies, and active learning. Some personal abilities needed for this career include problem solving, time management, and coordination. Personally, I need to work on all skills, but primarily work on reading comprehension, problem solving, and …show more content…
Of course, since there is many different jobs a biologist can do, pay still varies. In fact, Biologists in the District of Columbia can have annual wages of up to $63,000. Some biologists can earn even more, going up to $100,000 dollars per annum. The outlook for a biologist is rather typical compared to some occupations. The outlook for a biologist in the next 10 years is only an 8% increase. For 5 years, the outlook is predictably a 4% increase. The main reason the biologist outlook is so low is due to low demand and less competition. Since the biology field is less competitive than most science fields, the outlook is not expected to change until a sudden demand for biologist
