A racial group refers to groups with biologically inherited characteristics. This means caucasian or mongoloid. Ethnic groups refer to a sense of identity around a cultural tradition. These groups are unique and distinguishable by language, religion, dress, etc. My best friend is taiwanese and her mom moved here from her island 30 or more years ago. Her mother loves going to cultural events and meeting people near her homeland and I always seem to go with them. During one event we went to an asian festival and at first I felt weird being the only white person there, but it was really interesting to get to taste all the different food and see some very unique shows. This example of an ethnic group was amazing to get to hear their language
